TikTok Creator Pilot Program: Requirements, Limits and How to Graduate

If you just joined TikTok Shop as an affiliate creator and see a "Creator Pilot Program" label, you are not being punished. It is TikTok's starter stage for new affiliates. Here is what it means, what you can and cannot do, and how to get out of it.
What is the TikTok Creator Pilot Program?
It is part of TikTok Shop's affiliate program, where creators earn commission by promoting products in videos and LIVEs. It is not the same as the Creator Rewards Program, which pays for views on videos longer than one minute. The Pilot Program lets TikTok check that new affiliates follow the Shop rules before giving them full access.
Who is enrolled
- US-based TikTok Shop affiliate creators.
- 18 or older, with at least 1,000 followers and identity verified.
- Creators with fewer than 5,000 followers are enrolled automatically for at least 30 days.
Limits while you are in the Pilot Program
- You can only promote products from shops with a high rating (95% or more).
- You cannot join brand campaigns.
- There are caps on how many shoppable videos and LIVEs you can post. TikTok's own help pages give slightly different numbers, so check the current cap in your TikTok Shop dashboard.
How to graduate
- The standard way: reach 5,000 followers and stay in the program for at least 30 days.
- The early way (at TikTok's discretion): pass the policy probation quiz, keep a Creator Health Rating of 176 points or more, and hit one activity goal, such as 6 or more shoppable videos of at least 8 seconds, one LIVE of at least 5 minutes, or 10 orders.
Tips for the graduation quiz
- Read TikTok Shop's affiliate content policy before you start. The quiz is about those rules.
- Know what counts as misleading claims, banned products and incorrect product information.
- Keep your Creator Health Rating clean: violations lower it and can delay graduation.

How long does the TikTok Creator Pilot Program last?
At least 30 days. You usually graduate once you reach 5,000 followers after those 30 days, or earlier if TikTok lets you pass the quiz and meet the activity goals.
How do I join the Creator Pilot Program?
There is no separate application. New US affiliates with fewer than 5,000 followers are placed in it automatically when they get TikTok Shop affiliate access.
Do I earn money in the Pilot Program?
Yes. You earn affiliate commission on products sold through your videos and LIVEs, within the program's limits.
Is the Creator Pilot Program the same as Creator Rewards?
No. The Pilot Program is about TikTok Shop affiliate selling. Creator Rewards pays for views on videos longer than one minute and needs 10,000 followers.
